Energy The average person puts only 25% of his energy and ability into his work. The world takes off its hat to those who put in more than 50% of their capacity, and stands on its head for those few and far between souls who devote 100%. A man doesn't need brilliance or genius, all he needs is energy. Energy is the quantitative property (measured by number value) that may be transferred from one system to another system by none and unknown laws of nature and in particular physics. It is the capacity or power of a thing to do work. Further, it gives the system the ability to perform work. This work might be movement of the body, or heat. Energy is considered a conserved quantity. It means that it can be converted from one form to anther, but can never be created or destroyed. This action is governed by the Law of Conservation of Energy. The Measurement of Energy and Types Energy is measured in units of joule which is the International System of Units (SI). Energy can be measured before it is transferred to another object during and after the transference. This transference is always accompanied by movement and there are many forms of energy. Some of these include kinetic energy; energy in moving objects, potential energy; which is stored when an object is stationary and within in a force field which is gravitational, electric or magnetic, Elastic energy; which is a type of stored energy while the object is being stretched, Chemical Energy; as released during the burning through oxidation or other means, Radiant energy; as carried by light, and finally Thermal energy caused by an movement or work of object due to temperature and its changes. The Relationship Between Energy and Mass The mass of an object plays a role with energy and they are closely related. Albert Einstein's e = M C^2 relates the two quantities and therefore any object that has mass when stationary (rest mass) also has an equivalent amount of energy and when any additional energy is absorbed by the… -
Curriculum What is Qigong and Why is it in the Program? Year 1 Last Updated: May 11 2021 Introduction ψ In the Psionic Circles Program we will learn about Qigong and learn how to use it in our daily lives. Qi is a universal energy that is responsible for animating and enlivening everything in nature. This includes minerals, plants, animals, including humans and all spiritual entities. This universal energy, or qi, also spelled chi, is what we use to keep the human bodies healthy. In qigong practice it is used to cultivate flexibility, strength, resilience and suppleness in our bodies. Qigong has been used in China for 4,000 years. It has its roots in Taoism, also spelled Daoism, which is a philosophy which teaches that the key to life is to follow the 'Way' or 'Path' of the Divine. This Path when taken will never send one off track, and will keep its followers happy, healthy, and balanced in all areas of life. All good will come to its followers, but the road is narrow, and there are many distractions. Qigong has six main components. They are Chi or qi, Kung, Tao, the 5 Elements, the Meridians and Channels. Each of these elements will be found in the teaching materials of the course, but for our purposes here qi is energy, the Tao, is the 'right way, or path', the Five Elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood, the Meridians are the bodily channels that energy moves through and the Channels are larger branches that allow energy to move through certain areas of the bodies. Qigong has five main forms. These are Martial Arts Qigong, Medical Qigong, Spiritual Qigong, Moving Forms Qigong, and Still Forms Qigong. In this course we will not cover all of the forms during the first year. In subsequent years we will delve into Martial Arts Qigong, Spiritual Qigong, Moving Forms Qigong, and Still Forms Qigong. We will only touch the Medical Qigong, as this isn't a healing program, and there are many other courses which focus upon this area. Qigong has five main principles. They…Year 1: Qigong
